IVANKA has been named as a Finalist at the Surface Design Awards 2018 - Public Interior Surface category
IVANKA is a Finalist at the Surface Design Awards 2018 - Public Interior Surface category with the Central European University Campus Project based in Hungary, Budapest. In the newly remodelled CEU building, IVANKA manufactured and installed customized benches, counters, attica wall cladding as well as spiral and straight staircase coverings.
IVANKA implemented internationally pioneering construction and design concrete solutions in the CEU Campus Project. In the newly remodelled CEU building, the company manufactured and installed customized benches, counters, attica wall cladding as well as spiral and straight staircase coverings.
For the CEU campus, they designed highly customized solutions regarding surface and dimenson. As per client request, floor coverings were made in a special sanded revealing gravel texture. The L-profile panels of footings, staircases and counters were all custom-made, without fittings, in one piece. With this solution, the time of installation was shortened a great deal, and the result was a clean design on the surfaces. The largest of these panels is a counter of the size of 2,4 m x 1,1 m at the entrance, weighing almost 250 kg.
IVANKA contributed to the prompt implementation of the campus a great deal with its engineering services of high added value. The concrete items and their connection points were designed with high architectural precision, based on the preliminary on-site geodetic survey. Thanks to the logistics service of the company, the heavy items – including the mentioned L-shape panels and the 600 kg pieces of the benches – were delivered and installed smoothly and promptly. Considering the multitude of products and their uses, several fastening systems were used during installation: footings were installed with the classic anchor technology; staircases were fitted with a fast-setting cement-based material, while counters were built in using flexible fixation.
